ARTIST & ART TEACHER

  ARTIST profile

                                                      About   Kim Leanne:

 I am an Australian artist

based in Gympie Qld.

I love to paint and often

teach to share my passion

with others.

     My paintings hang in

various private collections

in Australia and overseas.

I work in oils, acrylic, pastels, watercolour, charcoal ,

carbon, graphite, oil pastel .... whatever I can get my

hands on really.

Nature is my greatest inspiration, I love to paint anything

god created, but sometimes  I will be inspired by the

character of a rundown shed or a crooked fence.

Thankyou for taking the time to explore my world, I hope

you enjoy what you see!

If you would like to know more about me personally read on .....

Born in Perth WA and raised in Brisbane, I moved to Gympie in 1982 with my parents and completed year 11 and 12 at Gympie State High School. In 1984 I moved back to Brisbane and completed a full-time art course at Queensland College of Art.

Although at the age of 17 I had a clear vision of becoming an Artist, by 20  I had “matured”.  Leaving the security of the family nest and putting away my “childish dreams” I began to look for a more practical outlet for my artistic passion.

After several years in the clothing industry I turned to hairdressing and eventually opened my own salon. Although for 15 years hairdressing was very rewarding, there was still a strong desire to paint burning within me.

Eventually God's call to

 become an Artist

 grew too strong to resist

so  I put down my hair brush

and picked up a paint brush!
